The Soulages Museum, directed by Benoit Decron, presents the exhibition „Ici et ailleurs, la matière et le temps / Here and elsewhere, matter and time“ a tribute to the museum’s architects, RCR Arquitectes. The exhibition, which will be open to the public until May 7, 2023, takes an exhaustive tour of the work of the architects, presenting a large arsenal of media, including a collection of models, plans, sketches, ideograms and photographs of the 30 years of work carried out by RCR.
The sample is articulated around three representative sets of the trajectory of the architects, the landscape, the architecture and the design. Together, the exhibition dialogues with works that have served as inspiration for RCR’s creative process, such as those by Donald Judd, Joan Miró, Claudi Casanovas, Leonci Quera, Pierre Soulages, Salvador Dalí or Antoni Gaudí, among others.

Here and elsewhere, matter and time celebrates RCR, Catalan architects of the Soulages Museum. here, because it is in Rodez that a story is played out, and elsewhere to evoke the achievements in Europe and the variety of their practices, between architecture and territories, watercolors and design of everyday objects. The key words of the RCR experience are: nature, landscape, matter, colors and time that stretches and brings together.
In 2017, RCR Arquitectes received the prestigious Pritzker Prize awarded in Japan. Through this retrospective, the Soulages Museum pays tribute to their singular history with an important representative selection of models, plans, sketches, gouaches, videos and photos covering more than 30 years of the creation of the RCRs.

„In Rodez, the RCR event will have around a hundred pieces exhibited in a scenography imagined and designed by the Catalans.“ -Benoit Decron, Chief Heritage Curator, Director of the Soulages Rodez Museum.
