INTRODUCTION
The entry period for the 7th edition of the BigMat International Architecture Award competition will run from 14 February to 24 April 2025. The event is being organised by BigMat International, a leading international chain of independent traders in construction materials.

All these reasons explain our interest in organizing the BigMat International Architecture Award. The award is there to recognize and reward outstanding architecture, thus fostering dialogue between the different roles involved in the architecture sector to further improve construction quality. Close attention will be paid to those architectural works that have made a major contribution to contemporary architectural culture by drawing on timeless architectural designs and concepts to have stood the test of time. We will also focus on how well the entries incorporate energy efficiency parameters, sustainable construction and the quest for greater comfort and habitability.

BIGMAT INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE AWARD – 2025
The prize is open to architects who work in one of the seven countries taking part in the award, namely Belgium, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. The work they enter into the competition must also have been built in one of those countries. Buildings that won or made the final in previous editions of this competition may not be entered again into this seventh edition. Moreover, architects or architectural firms that have won the Grand Prize in previous editions will be eligible to enter the BMIAA Awards again.
All participating architects will have their projects scrutinised by a panel of internationally renowned experts, who will select a total of 14 BMIAA’25 National Award winners: seven for the Architecture category and another seven for Proximity Architecture. All seven countries competing for the award must be represented in both categories. The seven National Architecture Award winners will then battle it out for the BMIAA’25 Grand Prize for Architecture. Meanwhile, the seven National Proximity Architecture Award winners will compete for the BMIAA’25 Grand Prize for Proximity Architecture. The BMIAA’25 Young Architect Honorary Award will also be awarded.
The entry period will run from 14 February to 24 April 2025. The closing event and awards ceremony will take place on 7 November 2025, on the occasion of the BigMat International Group’s annual congress in the city of Warsaw. The two Grand Prizes may not be declared void and cannot be shared.
The awards panel may choose to grant other honourable mentions, though without any prize money.
